Q7 electric steering column issues

My Q7's up and down adjustment on the electric steering column adjustment has stopped working shortly after I pressed the button for easy access (which raises the column right up). The reach adjustment still works fine.

I have tested the switch and read the codes but all seems fine so it points to motor failure.

Has anyone else ever experinced any kind of problem with this? As it stands the column is stuck in the extreme upright position and so is really awkward to drive!

I take it from the above comments you have VAGCOM?

If so try this reset procedure http://www.audi-forums.com/audi-q7-forum/56318-vag-com-reset-basic-settings.html it cured my temperamental problem.

I have a electric steering column if anybody needs one, will let it go cheap...

Hi R32S3A4Q7,

Damo has confirmed that the suggested fix did solve his problem, so I'm back to the dealer to see if they can do the reset (I don't have access to a vagcom).

The dealer has advised they think it is the steering column though, so don't be surprised if I get in touch - thanks for the offer.
