I have a frustrating problem with my Q7's comfort pack. The power adjustable steering column creeps down into my lap. This is a very slow and un-noticable process until the wheels catches my knees and I can no-longer see the indicator bulbs in the instrument binacle because of the rim of the steering wheel. The wheel will still move further down by the toggle switch, but will not go back up to its home position.
I have had it back to the main dealer twice in the last 7 months. On both occasions they have done a basic software reset and that has allowed the steering wheel to move it's full distance and out of my lap.
The trouble is the car is out of warranty now. The dealer was kind enough to rectify this problem for me free of charge as it had first appeared initially within the warranty period.
What I would like to know is if this is a procedure I can do with VAGcom? If so, it will save me quite a bit of time, effort and money taking my car back to the main dealer every 7 months.
Any advice, even if it is negative, would be greatly appreciated.
