Had a new head about 25K ago and new turbo at same time. Am experiencing some valve noise (tapping). My manuals don't say anything about follow up and/or adjustment. Anyone have any input?

yo man , I just got a new head put on my a4 1.8t 98 and i have the same issue . Very annoying tapping noise , especially when its reved at high rpms. My mechanic said it has to be worn in. Hopefully thats it , But my car also , the first day back , feels like it got 10x slower . Slow on take off and seems like a slug drives faster.
hey i have the same thing. Replaced the head on my 20v. Now as soon as it gets warm i get a tappety noise. Im gonna try a thicker oil first and if that doesnt work im taking back to get the tappets adjusted.
