I have a A6 C8 sport and the wheels looks a bit too small for my liking, if I was to fit 20" wheels would the car need to be lowered? or would it look ok?

whether you lower the suspension or not the tyre size you would need to comply with the correct speed would be 245-40-20 which would give you a speed of 69.90 mph at indicated 70 mph. Check out Size My Tires web site.
