the image will be tarnished tho if this keeps happening to the DSG gear boxes , Im not sure where the image even came from to begin with, i think its audi that keeps going on about how great they are and like anything when you hear it enuff times u start to beleive it , i would never buy another audi again after this. the customer services does not exist either at audi. i have nothing good to say about my entire experience with owning an audi and will never have one again!! rant over!! lol

Thumbs down DSG probs on my 3.2 TT Roadster

Unfortunately I am experiencing the same problem as described on the various postings here; I have not experienced any performance issues yet - all I am seeing is the flashing on the dashboard as per the YouTube video clip.
I also purchased my car from an Audi dealership, it's only 4 years old, 31K on the clock. Always had my car serviced there according to their schedule, yet I am being told they have never seen this problem before, that they have spoken to Audi and have been advised there will be no goodwill help towards the costs of the repairs needed on my car!
I am due to take it in for full "test diagnosis", at the rate of £98 per hour + VAT ... apparently they "need to see it happening" !Only then will I find out exactly how much they inted to charge me for something they obviously know is a known problem with this feature on these cars! I will also add my complaint to the BBC's Watchdog, and will try to call Audi customer services as suggested.
I find the dealership's attitude astonishing .. customer services is definately not their highest priority!

If the vehicle is out of warranty of course they will charge for diagnosis, I would suggest you talk to Audi UK customer services before taking it in, the dealer didn't build the thing. Normal diagnosis time wouldn't be more than 1 hour, ask to talk to, and drive with, the dealers Master Technician to try to reproduce or explain exactly when the fault occurs.

Well said Badger. My advise is to take extended Audi warranty stop whinging and speak to the dealers and cc with some respect and you may be surprised that they will help you.Dsg 3.2 has suffered with a few issues but only small % fail and only a small % of complaints as you don't whip up a forum if your happy just when you have something to whinge about.Audi always tries to resolve issues but they also offer extended warranty when the vehicle exceeds it manufacturers warranty

It's not a matter of "whipping up a forum" only when you have problems a8 tech .. simply reaching out to others who may have had simillar experience.

Hello everyone,
I am a 2004 audi a3 2,0 fsi owner from istanbul.
I' ve had the same dsg problem(it's called mechantronic failure) 1 months ago. Even though i complained changing that unit cost me over all 5000 turkish liras. If there is a way to get rid of this bill or at least contribution from audi please tell me what to do. i have the detailed bill from an authorised audi service.
