I was just wondering, would 19'' inch rims fit nice and neat on a a4? Also, would i be able to put 19" in the back and 18" in the front? I have a quattro, don't want to damage anything. thanks

From what I've gathered, no.

I've even heard some enthusiasts say that different amounts of wear on the same size tires can cause damage if the differences are sever enough.

I've seen a few 19 inchers fit fine. Don't know if you have to play with it to make it work though.

PHB is right. Different size tyres on front & rear will rotate at different speeds and burn out you viscus link which will result in very, very large repair bills!!!
This also goes for tyres with unequal tread depth. The tolerances for this according to Audi specs is quite limited.
