i am have 1994 Audi 90 90S The battery is dead after 6 months of sitting so I gave it to my mechanic to charge it up for me. I took a battery out of a pickup I have and have been using this battery. Until now (about 4 hours after I put the battery in) it worked fine. My car just wont start.but the only way it would stay running is if keep on the gas. Does anyone know whats up with it?

Less of a pain in the ass if you can pull codes on the car and norrow down your problem though. First start with replacing the battery. If the problem persists, pull codes and see if the ecu throws a code at you. That will be your problem. Guess work on these cars is not an option...trust me on this!

Pulling codes

And by pulling codes, you mean using an interface to do that? I just got a used Audi for driving back and forth to work, I don't want to post a photo until I get it cleaned up although it is in pretty good condition body wise. It's an old 94 90CS. Your pix look great. I have had American cars that you could pull codes from if you knew the trick...one you had to turn the heat on high and the ac on high at the same time after turning the ignition key to "accessory" three times. The codes would come up on the display..P124, L223..etc and I had a list of what the codes meant. But, so far I am hearing that I need a device (vag-com?) to do that or get a dealership to pull them for 100 bucks diag fee. True?
