found an s4 biturbo engine with 34,000mi. but the car was recked from the rear. it was a 2.7lbi and it was going for $3,000. my mechanic said he would do the swap for 2,500-3000 depending on wat i need. so i would rather get the swap done and get the same amount of power than having 94,000mi. with a pes supercharger. but the thing is if i got a swap i would want to also convert the tranny to a 6spd so u r rite i should just look for an s4. if u no any s4's for sale anywhere from 12000-15,000 please let me no!
thanx

because its a completly different engine.. you would need to basically rebuild the entire thing to add turbos.

it would be much easier (and probably much less money) to sell the 2.8 and buy a 2.7t S4
I dont know much bout the audi motors and I assumed that the 2.7 was just a 2.8 whith thicker head gaskets or perhaps lower compression pistons. if that is the case then couldnt you just have thicker head gaskets made and put on the 2.8 to lower the comp to accomodate the turbos?
Or are you saying that the block, crank and every other thing is different and completely dissimilar to the 2.8?
because if the headers and manifolds bolt to the 2.8 than a little math and $ could make the the bi's work.
I am only asking cuz I was thinking about the same thing.

First off let me just clarify something, you can put a bi-turbo system on a 2.8, but it will take alot of work to do and a lot of modifactions to the engine bay. Second if you were to but a 2.7T the you would have to replace your entire front suspension cause of the room needed for the turbos, as well as some engine bay modifaction. Both can be done but they will be very expensive and something that you will have to have done professionally.
