Tt 225 Engine

Hello - i wonder if you guys can help me ? I am currently in the process of fitting an Audi TT225 engine in a 1998 clio which i use for quarter mile racing. I have taken the existing engine out of the car ( extensively tuned 2.0 16v with NOS ) and i am purchasing the TT engine later on today. The conversion is a relatively simple one although you probably think i am mad. I will be using a Stealth racing ECU and wiring loom and Vince at stealth racing will be setting the car up for me ( potential 300 bhp ? )and modifying the engine mounts and other ancileries in order for it to fit. What i need to know is the correct engine code ie - type for a 225 engine. I dont want to purchase a 150 or a 180bhp type by accident. Obviously if i know the code and were abouts it is situated it would help me a great deal - i will keep you informed as to how the conversion is coming along

i'm very interested to see how this project turns out. Will you be using the TT225 transmission in the new car or what? Sorry - i cant help you with the codes, but i'm sure someome else can. The TT225 does have a KO4 turbo which is considerbly bigger than the TT180 so that may help.

I am using a gearbox from a corrado G60 which mates straight up to the 225 engine - this box is cable shift which will make life easier when connecting it all up to the shifter. I am now picking the engine up on sunday so i will check the markings on the turbo. I spoke to Audi customer services yesterday and they told me the code starts with BAM ?? If you send me your e-mail Address i will post you pictures throughout the conversion - Thanks for your help

Ive collected the engine now and its definetely the 225 unit - its in perfect running order. Ive ordered up the ECU and loom today and should be dropping the engine in shortly, so fingers crossed the transplant should be done by Dec / Jan. I will keep you informed as to how its coming along.

the engine codes will be on the cylinder head at the end of the timing belt cover,auq engine is a 180 bhp and bam is the engine code for a 225 bhp,these are the engine codes seat and volkswagen use so i cant see audi being different.

DTA loom arrived today - gonna be fitting the lump in Xmas hols, so it will be running by early jan - Vince at Stealth says it will be good for 270 - 280 bhp with the set up im goin for - ive gone for a VW Golf GTi 6 speed box ( instead of the Corrado G60 ) and will be fitting a Gripper LSD to this. Will keep in touch.
