Hi Everyone ~

I am new to this....I drive a 2001 A4 Quattro and rumor has it the timing belt needs to be changed every 60,000 miles for maintenance...is there truth to this?

Thanks... :)

This certainly is not a rumour. Don't take chances with this. Get the belt changed (and water pump) at or near the recommended mileage. If not, you risk the belt breaking which will cause massive damage to your engine.

i bought my audi a4 in august and it had 87,000 miles on it. About 4 weeks ago the engine shut off on me when i was drivin. I thought it was the starter or something but it ended up being the timing belt and the whole top of the engine had severe damage. I got it fixed for a really good price of $2000....................

he is right , do not take the chance , change it , you wont regret it.........

good luck
