Ive just got a 2002 A4 2.5TDi Quattro sport, which I have to say I am very impressed with.....until the sun dissapears from the sky and I have to drive it at night!!

The headlights are shocking, even when they are sparkling clean! The main beam is better than all other cars I have had but other motorists arnt keen of me driving round with them on all the time.

I have read several posts about upgrading, quoting things like H7s.....6000k.....Ballasts etc, all stuff which is way above me! All I want are replacement bulbs that mean i can drive in the night. Not sure if Audi have recognised this design flaw and made something better available?

So is there....

A simple bulb replacement that means the headlights are useful?

Really suprised at this low quality headlights in a car which has everything else perfect to the last detail!!

Please help....

Thanks

If you are not going HID (Xenons) the best highlight bulbs i found were Philips Blue vision + (H7)

Have a look on this site.. its a UK site (its about 15 mins away from me) They have some good prices... however use them for ideas and get searching ebay if you want a real bargin..

Power Bulbs - autobulbs, autolamps, xenon headlights, car bulbs, headlight bulbs, osram silverstar, silver star, philips vision plus, philips blue vision, bluevision

HOWEVER... ensure you stay away from the HID look blues on ebay and there all rubbish,... I know... i have spent over £100 on them in the last 12 minths at least..

See these posts from this fourm.

Have you taken it back to the garage?
I have almost the same car and mine are fine (they are standard) the only problem I've had is they are almost impossible to change. I had to take it back to the garage to have a blown one replaced!

Same problem here too, exasperated by what appear to be milky lenses, I'm going to strip them down tomorrow and see what happens, I've already done the +50% xenon thing with little change, I had an A2 before, they now seem like searchlights compared to what I have now, looks like it's deserted country lanes or lit motorways in the dark now!
Would not like to try 155mph on an autobahn with those candles! what were Audi thinking!

just on the back of this... if you remove the headlight you can take it apart to clean... just look for the screws and undo...

in regards to headlights in general... HID is the way forward!!
