Good afternoon guys,

Not that this is a problem. But baffled why the car(multitronic 2.0) does this:

When it slows down, and hits 20mph mark, I can feel a sudden temporary(but subtle) "give away" - almost felt like when it's slowing down and hits 20mph mark, as if the gear is put on neutral temporarily as soon as it hits 20mph. It happens split second, then fine again.

This doesnt seem to happen if accelerating past and hits the 20mph mark.
Or is this some sort of signs of impending doom?

Cheers

No, it's petrol 2.0

Give away sensation --> Feels like the gear is temporarily put on neutral and and I can feel the momentum is pushing the car forward temporarily, maybe about 1/2 second or so when this happens when the needle hit the 20mph.

It could be the gearbox holding onto a high gear and then the engine surging slightly at low revs. I think this is a symptom of low emissions.
Try manually selecting say 2nd or 3rd gear and see if it still happens

Thank you for suggestion,

I'll try that tomorrow. But from your description, it doesnt sound like anything to be worried about?
