Need advice from Audi experts, Buying a 1999 A4 Q 2.8 5sp man. 125k. Timing belt went on prev. owner and seized engine. Dealer is repairing now. What should I be looking for when I get to more closely examine this car? Ist Audi for me. Would like to seem like I know what I'm talking about.
Thank you

I think the key questions are 1) how much are you paying for the car and 2) how long will the dealer warranty the rebuilt engine for. I he is only giving you 30 days for example, you have top be prepared to take the risk of an expensive repair later.

Rgds.

Another thing to check for is if the lifters are damaged. If they are the cylinder head has to be replaced. Otherwise the valves/guides will bend and screw the engine again.
