Ok guys, here goes...

I've decided to run separate snow tires and rims for the winter season...my 4.2 has a sport suspension, which means I have the larger calipers, which limits the kinds of 16" rims I can run.

I know the A6 4.2 could come with 16" rims from the factory, but here's my question: do all 4.2's come with the large calipers? If so, I can rest assured that the 16" rims I see in my 2001 A6 4.2 brocure will work on my 4.2 with sport suspension...

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if anyone wants to chime in as far as their success with running smaller than stock (16") rims on a 4.2 for the winter would be great...

You can put larger rims up to 20" on easily regardless of the sport suspension and larger callipers unless your car has been seriously lowered !!

If in doubt you can always ring Audi for technical assistance on wheel fitment.
