Hi guys

I have a 2005 B7 S4 Avant with a bit of an odd issue...

The main beam nearside headlight was doing odd things. It would flicker on and off, and then switch off for 5-10 seconds before coming back on as normal. No pattern - completely random.

So, I've replaced the bulb with a brand new one (Phillips or Osram, forget which), and now with 0 and 15 minutes of driving the warning light will come on the dashboard for that bulb.

The bulb is now rock solid (no flickering etc) - but the damned warning light is now causing the issue.

So, on to VAG COM and got this:

---

Address 09: Cent. Elect. Labels: 8E0-907-279-8EC.lbl
Part No: 8E0 907 279 L
Component: int. Lastmodul ECE 0304
Coding: 11021
Shop #: WSC 65536
VCID: 3B714F18297E811

1 Fault Found:
02745 - Bulb for Daytime Running Light; Left
30-00 - Open or Short to Plus

---

Any ideas at all as to what this could be???

Many thanks!

Hi there

Thankfully we got it sorted!!

Turned out it was the DRL bulb on the one side. The bulb was working perfectly so not sure why, but changed the bulb and solved it!

Many thanks

Hi there

Bought a genuine bulb from Audi. Around £1!!!
Hi Lionheart...sorry for my ignorance of the UK currency but you said the bulb cost L 1!!! above. Did you by chance mean to say 100 pounds it cost? I cannot imagine that a bulb for Audi costs only 1 pound = around $1.80 Canadian....
can you confirm? So your problem had nothing to do with the rheostat then?

bulb

Hi there

Yes, it was around £1 plus tax genuine part from Audi.

It's just the Daytime Running Light bulb, which is a standard bulb (not Xenon).

I expect £5-6 because it's Audi, but yes just £1!
