I am currently driving a 96 1.6 petrol saloon and I am looking to step up a few years to a 98/99 tdi. When either trading or buying private what are the things to look out for in a diesel ? Obviously I am looking for low mileage etc but what questions do I need to be asking when it comes to 2nd hand diesels ??
