Help !! - I am new to the forum and wondered if anyone out there knows how to open a jamed passanger side door on a 1998 A6. It all started with what looks like a common problem (looking at other froum threads) with the window sticking. This it seems might be the plastic runners or a triangular bit of rubber that comes out of the mounting. Anyway after leaving this for longer than I should - now the door has stuck. I can't use the latch on the inside and when you press the button for the Central locking you can see the locking pin trying to raise up but it can't quite get there! I took it to an Audi Garage(non main dealer) and they said I would need to go to a body shop and maybe have the door panel cut out !!! gulp !!!. I don't fancy this option - does anyone have any ideas that doesn't invlove such drastic action? Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Just thought I would write to say..."You are not alone", mine has done the same thing today... only difference being my lock button pops all the way up but still no joy on opening the door. Have tried many solutions including kicking the thing and as yet nothing doing. Have you gained any further insight and managed to find a solution? Any hits and tips would be most welcome, otherwise I may have to resort to cutting the panel out to access lock.

i had same problem so i took my A6 to a local garage they began to cut the hook that hold the door on the car and just as they were gonna saw the hook of the door opened . so i had a half cut hook now i got a new one from audi dealers but this one is some "special" hook witch you cannot do any damage to so basically if it gets stuck again my online option would be to rip the door off
