Oil Qty In 2.7 T (2001) Engine?

I'm a new owner of 2001, A6, 2.7T. I was doing a oil change and refilled with 6 qts. (per owners manual) and the level only registered on the bottom of the stick. I added one more qt. to bring it up to the upper mark. I ran the engine (normal operating temp) and rechecked - all is fine. Is the manual in error?

I've noticved the same thing... in both my 2.7t audi's i've needed to put in ~7qts of oil to fill the tank up.

Interestingly enough - the specs in the manual for 2000 2.7t's said 6.9 qts but only 6.3 for '01. :huh:
