Hello all,

I have to admit to not actually owning an Audi yet, always liked them though. I plan to get one shortly after christmas. (currently drive a V6 mondeo)

So what does 12 grand buy me? I want the newer shape. either a 2.0l or a 1.9tdi.
Which is better? pro's and cons etc.

you could get something pretty nice for that.


Don't know why you're limiting yourself to the 2.0 or 1.9tdi, there are lots of other super nice audi's with other engines that you could get... maybe you're looking at fuel econ?

Just a quick look at the ebay.co.uk motors section, you can find a few good audi's that would suit your needs very well.

Theres a 225hp TT which would be tons of fun for you. A A6 2.7t which has pretty high miles, but is an awesome fun car and a really lice S3.


If it must be a 2.0, check out this A4 or this 1.9TDi A4.


I cant really coment on either the 1.9 or 2.0 as we dont have those options here in the states, but the 1.8t in the TT and the 2.7t are both awesome high proformance engines that wont disapoint you.

Thanks for the advice

Basically i live with my Gf and we run 2 cars, a V6 mondeo and a little ford fiesta.
I want to reduce the cost of running them, so were selling both and buying 1. Shes only 21 and im 25 so insurance costs are quite a big thing.
As much as i would love a TT or better still a V6 Audi im getting sensible in my old age.
Thats why at the minute im opting for a tdi or the 2.0l. But at the same time, i dont want something too underpowered. My current car is pretty quick.

this is all subject to change the minute i see an RS4 parked on the forecourt though!!.

Well, as far as insurance goes, i understand that completly... You're coming out of a V6 so i might be a little hesistant to recoment going into a 2.0 or a TDi ... look for something with the 1.8t. :huh:
