Just picked up "certified", 2001, A6, 2.7T, tip tronic, sport package, 57k mi. Really a beautiful car. I have owned a BMW (e36, 1995), it too is a great car. I needed more room plus will take advantage of the AWD in the mountains in the Northwest.

I am learning (as I did with the BMW) that the dealer seems to do quite well with their margins on parts. I enjoy and prefer doing most all of my maintenance. I have found sources for BMW (OEM) parts through the years and now need to do so for the Audi. Eventually I may want to improve performance (as I did with the BMW) and will want to explore options.

Any advice, tips, what to look-out-for (I am a bit concerned with the turbo engine) would be GREATLY appreciated. For the time being I'm planning to stay with conventional oil but did switch to Amsoil synthetic in the BMW, any feedback here too would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance & Regards - Scott

Welcome to audi-forums.com! The A6 is an awesome car, and the 2.7t is one of the best engines out there.

I wouldnt call them a 'source' but i've ordered a few parts from Overnight Auto Parts.com. They get stuff to you fast, and i beleive shipping is free.

You shouldnt be woried about the twin turbo engine, its very reliable. You can boost the psi well over what stock is with out putting any added stress on the engine. Put oil and fuel in it, and it'll run for awile.

again, welcome, look forward to chattin' with you.
