Anybody heard of the problems caused by low quality diesel in the new[ish] 170ps DFP engine, apparently caused by sulphur in our diesel ?

Only meant to be an issue in the UK, with no reports of problems in Gemany etc due the higher quality of fuel there.

Typical, most expensive fuel in europe and the worst!!!!!!! Try using Shell optimax or BP ultima. I use BP in mine and find a little more power.
