i have a 2000 a4 2.8 quattro with the auto/manumatic transmission. the guy at the dealership said that using the manumatic transmission might put a lot of extra strain on the transmission and cause reliability issues. is this true? as long as i am not winding the gears out too long or cutting them short, shouldnt i be fine? i love my car and don't want to compromise the reliability.

independent, but it is literally right next to the audi dealership and they are an exclusive used car dealership. i have a 4 year bumper to bumper warranty on the car that is through audi. he seemed to be speaking through generalities, rather than directly about audi transmissions. it's a relief to know that i can use it and have a little more fun and my car will be okay.
