hi all, i was just wondering if many people had had problems with their manual gearbox in their 1996 a4 1.8t quattro or similar model. mine blew totally at 100,000klms, and some workshops say its common and others say its rare! am i just unlucky,( or maybe the previous owner shifted wrong), or is it common. My car had had an 2.5 inch exhuast system and a unichip fitted which is a mild performance increase and i thought wouldn't be to bad for the box etc.

what do you mean by blew out? thats really weird for a car with that miliage
