anyone know how often you should change the oil in your gearbox?? (manual box)

and if you do know... can you reccommend an oil and how to do it?? ie drain hole and filling nosle?

Well,

I changed my gearbox oil recently, mine's a 93 2.0 16v coupe and has done 102000 miles. Had the clutch changed and thought it would be a good time. The handbook says it's for life but how long is life?
