I have the same engine in my car and when I cruz at 70mph I get about 29mpg. It goes down from there once you pick up speed from there. Anyway, your milage seems way too low. I have heard of this happening to others with the 2.8 engine but unfortunatly have not come across any solutions but I will keep looking.
Fuel Economy
Hey guys, I just recently purchused my 1996 A4 and it gets terrible gas mileage. It is averaging below 20mpg even though I do a lot of highway driving. Before I got the car the dealership had replaced the timing belt. I was wondering if this could be the cause. Also any other ideas would be helpfull.
