Fuel Consumption!

Hi, i have a 1.8SE, my 1st Audi, nice motor.......i'm finding it just a little on the juicy side, it's tempermental, some days the petrol/gas needle seems to move very quickly, some days hardly at all. Is it anything to with the climate control! Can anyone enlighten me, THANX. :unsure:

when useing climate control it does affect fuel consumption

Defintely. I have mine set to econ most of the time, unless its really hot which it hasn't been since I got it due to the fact that we are in the midst of winter. Just for reference I average 25mpg in a 3.2 S Line.
