My new shape 2016 Q7 has now covered a faultless 60,000 miles. However in past 6 months I have noticed an overpowering strong smell of hot coolant as I exit my vehicle after a journey, (I use the car for towing a twin axle caravan) there is no puddling of coolant anywhere under the vehicle or visible any where in the engine bay once I leave it standing. I have just topped up my expansion bottle with .25 ltr of Audi coolant. Researching this fault it looks quite a common fault: Coolant regulator valve, which is situated in the bowels of the engine on the V6 block..Audi state this is a 8 hours procedure at £178.00p an hour…
Any one else out there come across this issue?
