I have an Audi A3 2.0 TDi 2004. When I switch the headlights (halogen) to main beam I get about 5 seconds of main beam and then they switch off again (still have dip) and I get a driver side main beam fault indication on the dashboard. If I switch the steering wheel stalk back to off and the on again I get another 5 seconds and then they switch off again. Replaced the bulb - no difference, swapped with the nearside bulb - no difference, checked resistance to earth - seems good.
Has anyone else seen this problem and have a solution. Looks to me like the electronics in the J519 body control module is at fault so I wondered if there is a way to disable this behaviour via VCDS.
Thanks if you can help
