Is there any way i could do an engine swap with my 96 A4 2.8 12v? i
would really like the S4 engine and as far as i can tell all the frame
work and engine compartant is nearly identical. Let me know if it is
possible . would i have to replace the trans as well??

I would not suggest for the engine swap, the main reason being that an S4 engine is going to be really hard to find and expensive if you do find it. You would be better off buying a 2000 S4 and selling your car. On the other hand, your engine is almost the same as the one in the S4, all you need to add is a turbocharger/supercharger kit. :mellow:

hey i have an another idea!!
sell your car (if you really want the performance and have the money), and get either a 00-01 S4 or a 01 A4 1.8t, those can be customized fairly easily and will a little cheaper than the S4.
