I have a 1994 Audi 90S with a V6 and a 5spd manual tranny. The clutch is now slipping and I have discovered that it has a dual mass flywheel! Does anyone have experience with re-using dual-mass flywheels? I only have 70,000 miles on the car. and the flywheel costs $700. for a total clutch job of $1500. installed!!!

I understand you cannot resurface the dual mass type.. but how long do they last? Can I just replace it every other time?

If not has anyone every removed the manual transmission and installed an automatic instead? this may be cheaper than clutch jobs.
