basically i need to find engine modifications that will make a difference for better or worse for as cheap as possible

So far got a varibale resistor for my coolant temp sensor
A "turbonator" which you shove in the inlet and it creates "boost" and a swirl affect meant to give me 10% more power hahahaha
And an electric supercharger which is also meant to give me 10%

Any more ideas?

You have not stated what engine you have model and year of car and right now I can tell you the electric Supercharger intake thing is a load of crap.

universal things preferably, my test car is a renault 19 1.8 16 valve, and the ones that work will be going on my S3 (210), basically im doing it for a project at uni, and im going to do loadsa crap to the cars and analyse the results working out volumetric efficiencies, thermal efficiencies, imeps, bmeps and looking at engine load injector duration etc etc etc, any one have any ideas, iwant a chep way of advancing the ignition timing ideally
