Hi,

I have just purchased a 53 plate TDI 130 A4. It's done 55k and I am looking into the cambelt situation. I used to work for VW service and on the TDI 130s it was always a change at 60kas far as I remember.

However, the service book of the A4 says every 80k (or 120k Kilo Meteres) for the cambelt change. It says every 80 k for 3 cylinder and 4 cylinder TDI unit injector egines.

The last thing I want to do is leave it til 80k if it should be done at 60. Any help greatly appreciated indeed. Thanks in advance

my 2003 Audi Service Schedule book states that the Cam belt on TDi engines with unit injector system should be changed at 60,000 miles
The V6 TDi is stated as 80.000 miles.

My 1.8t 20v cam belt replacement is stated at 115,000 miles, does anybody know if these recommendations are still valid

I remember when I worked at the VW dealer we had access to a document that had all the engine codes on it with the reccomended intervals for each engine. The 1.8 Ts went from anything from 80 to 120 I seem to remember.

Trouble is that VAG are not much help if it snapps out of warranty so it could be better to err on the cautious side.

:D :D I got a quote of my main dealer today and they quoted......wait for it .......£850!! yep £850 for a replacement cambelt +£200 for a water pump which they (and the specialist) say I need to replace too.

To say I was stunned is an understatement:eek:
That a full £1050 to have the work done (and I need the service in 6000 miles too!)

got a straight answer out of audi uk

my 53 plate 2004 a4 sport has done 54,000 miles so i rang Audi to enquire about when i need to change it

they said ignore the manual they recommend changing it at 75,000 or 5 years whichever occurs first

mine has just passed 5 years so ive been shopping around audi want £447 for cambelt kit, other belts and water pump and labour

just had a quote from awesome-gti at irlam manchester £379 all in, they claim to use OEM parts if so seems a really good deal

audi supply a courtesy car though

mmm:huh: decisions,decisions:lol:
