Hi everyone,

I'm a new A4 owner. Bought it here in Jacksonville, FL a month ago.
It's a 1999 A4 2.8Quattro. given it was used and had 86K miles, I thought it would make sense to get a Ross-Tech VAG COM. Used it a few times to check on a CEL light, and it revealed enough information for me to look up in the Bently CD manual. But since I'm not a mechanic, I posted a few questions on other forums in cyberspace and got some bad, and good advice. Ultimately I found my answer and my issue is gone, and the CEL light easily cleared w/VAG COM.

I'm learning more stuff all the time about the car. I've sort of become fanatical about keeping the car maintained, and of course am avoiding a repair shop visit.
The VAG will at least keep the repair shops in line and "honest".. :)

Anyone know what's up witht the Cabin Air Filter? What's a recommended time to replace it... I'll pull it out this weekend to inspect it regardless..

Thanks all!

Adam

The first sign that your cabin air filter needs replacing is that the windows get fogged and the blowers don't cope with defogging them.
