Hi All, What I've seen of this forum is great. Have a Landcruiser now and am looking for something more commuter friendly and the A4 has captured my attention. What should I be looking at with this car to get a good idea of its reliability going forward? Looking at a 1999 2.8 5sp man.at dealer. Has just come in. Timing belt went and motor seized. Dealer is doing belt and heads have been resurfaced. 125K. landcruiser forums have been invaluable to me and am looking to reaping the benifit of the vast knowlege within these pages.
Hope to be a fellow Audi owner very soon.
Cheers.

I would pass on a car that has had a cam belt failure, particulalry when there are so many good ones (well look after and regulalry serviced) around.

I've just bought myself a 2006 Landcruiser V8. Can you refer me to some of the better forums around for these?

I would pass on that car also. You have no idea on the extend of the damage when that engine seized.

Plus like dcc236 said there are plenty of good ones around.

Don't discount the 1.8T engine either, that thing is solid.
