Wut is the boost running on A3 1.8T,any1 know?

i asume its pretty low,since it doesnt make the flutering noise.
damn....need more boost!!

Well the stock A3 1.8T here by us boost about 0.5 to 0.6bar boost. But when the guys chip them they go up to about 1 to 1.3bar. :devil:

you can get a fluttering noise with low boost, but you need a bov (blow off valve), instead of the lame standard dv

Hi,
i know its boring but if you fit an after market whooshy dump valve you run the risk of letting small amounts of unfiltered air into the induction system just before you put your foot back on the throttle, the standard dump valve is a much better option and you don't sound like every other chav on the streets either?
Apart from this, German engineering is the best in the world and a £20.00 ally valve is not going to make it any better, if it did then it would already be on the car from the factory?, why dont you spend your money on some big brakes or decent suspension or just go down the pub......unless of course you are seventeen and wear Burberry, then you may as well buy the valve and go on a cruise!!!!

well audidudy, the standard dv has been proven to fail when running higher boost, so that is probably the biggest reason to change it...
but DRIFT4, you wont get any increase in hp from changing it however (unless the standard one was failing)
Just replace it with a better bov... i'd personally just get the plumb back, as i'm not too keen on the bov noise, but thats my personal opinion..
