Does anyone have any ideas of what the problem is?

Some2 years ago water entered the ECU box and all ECU units were replaced by Audi. At odd times after the car would refuse to start. during last servicing (major with cam belt etc) audi checked out the ECU box and sealed it. Recently over the last couple of months it refuses to start - no signs of firing. But aftera couple of hours or so it will start without any problem.

However this weekend it refused to start and now 2 days later it will not start so whatever the fault is it is no longer intermittent.

I am wondering if it could be the imobilizer possibly the fuel pump but have no idea where either of these components are located- can anyone help?

Hello

Just for the record my problem with refusing to start was caused by poor wiring connections when audi replaced water damaged plugs and sockets within the ECU. Once I had finally replaced all their in line connections it solved that particular problem. Audi uses in line crimp type connections and some of them had not been crimped properly in that the crimp had caught the outer of the wire and not the inner making a joint that sometimes made depending on ambient temperature. I had to find this for out for myself as audi couldnt.
