Audi A4 16v I4 turbo vs. regular 4 cylinder?

I've been driving a regular 4 cylinder MB SD Connect C4 crossover and i hate it, it doesn't suit me, there is no pullup, every time i step on the pedal, the engine just rev and slowly increase in speed. Im thinking in getting a Audi a4 and its has a 16v I4 turbo (stock) engine. I just want to know whats the difference between the 16v I4 turbo engine and a regular 4 cylinder, and how much of a difference is it.
