 Ive had my audi since 02/01/07 bought from a dealer in kinver, it came with a 30 day or 6000 miles warranty whichever came sooner.
today ive noticed my airbag warning light keeps flashing up and turning off, so im well peeved off as my warranty has just run out so its gunna cost me money to get it put right. Having looked in my handbook for the car i found that this intermittent flashing of the light means i have a faulty system!!!!!!!!!

Does anybody have any idea how much approx its gunna cost to get this put right??

Thanks in advance....

When you say the light flashes up and then turns off do you mean when you switch the ignition on its on for a few seconds the goes out when the engine is running ??

Hate to say it mate, but the airbag light can be a bad one. Mine's been on for 2 years. Story I got was that if it didn't reset when they talked to it with the computer, it could be a fault "somewhere" in the airbag system. The culprit is usually the curtain one that comes from the seat as they get buggered with the constant adjusting. Price ranges from free for a reset to a Grand ($1000) if they have to mess with the bag. In my case, a dot of duct tape over the light was much cheaper.

I could be all wet on this one, but the price tag discouraged me from following up any further. Just try to hit stuff head on, and you'll be OK.

One think you should think about is if the lights on the systems not going to work and if your in a bad wreck those air bags could save your life !! which im sure is worth much more than $1000 but its up to you at the end of the day :)

Normally when there is a fault in any system in the car, the appropriate light will come on and stay on. Almost sounds like the light is trying to stay on all the time but the bulb is loose?

One thing thats easy... try (with the car running and stationary) turning the steering wheel back and forth from lock to lock... see if this triggers the light. This would signify the clock spring, which is what transfers the SRS and horn wires to the steering wheel and still allows it to turn. This is one of the cheaper parts of the SRS system.

Almost any part in the SRS system is expensive... but normally life-saving, as mentioned.

My SRS light is on... and stays on. Bought the car, had a couple burned out bulbs for the gauge illumination, so I pulled the gauge cluster and noticed the SRS bulb was missing. So I put a new bulb in there, and sure enough, the light stays on. So someone removed the bulb, so when the car was sold the light was not on. Im working with a lawyer to see if anything can be done about this. Think if I got in a bad accident, air bags didnt go off and I was seriously injured (or front seat passenger). Then it was found that the SRS system was knowingly nonfunctional, but the light removed to hide it. Makes you wonder...

this happened to me too, i had the problem and found out that it was in the backseat, theres a clip under the rear seat (passenger side, rear) its a yellow clip, and mine was loose, i put some electrical tape around it and it was fine.
