Hi all! I'm a new member and I actually signed up because I was looking for answers to my lil' dilemma. I own an 2000 A4 1.8T quattro (my baby!) and have had her for about a year. About 6 months ago I had to have the starter replaced and took it to a shop. Of course $500 later I pull out of the shop and my MIL is on. Well, I figured since the shop was unfamiliar with Audi's that I just needed to have the code from the starter reset. Of course come inspection time when I went to get everything reset and inspected, the same place told me I had a code PO411 "Secondary Air Flow Malfunction". Great! I overheard the one mechanic talking to the owner and felt a lil' suspicous of their conversation. So I decided to take matters into my own hands. Upon inspection of my engine i found a small diameter hose not connected to anything!!! Unfortunately I can't fit my big head (or hands for that matter) into those small Audi crevices to find where that hose came from or where the air pump, vacuum hose, or valves are located. Could use and would greatly appreciate a lil' help on this! Thanks!!

Well I myself am no audi expert but I do a lot of reading. The only thing I can suggest is that you take your engine cover off, and check your DV. make sure that all the hoses are connected. if the unattached hose you see is no where near your DV I honestly have no clue. Just thought I would give you somthing to look for.
