I have an A4 1.9TDI (1996), and since the last brake pad change the ABS works strange. It works normally at high speed, although the brake force is a little bit less then before (supposedly becuase of the new brake pads). But when I try to brake until the car stops, the ABS brakes one of the front wheels with full force (the wheel is sliding) just before the car stops. It means that if you slightly press the pedal around 5-10 km/h the brake force is always at the maximum. The mechanic could not find the cause of the problem... Has anyone faced something similar?

JUST TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE MAKE SURE THE ABS SENSORS AIR GAP IS CORRECT (PUSHED RIGHT IN). I HAD A VERY SIMILAR PROB WITH MY '98 TDI AND HAD A NEW REAR SENSOR FITTED (£120) ONLY FOR THE CAR TO BE THE SAME TILL I CRAWLED UNDERNEATH TO HAVE A LOOK PUSHED THE SENSOR IN ABIT FURTHER AND JOB DONE, JUST HAVE TO KEEP YOUR EYE ON IT TILL IT RUST IN PLACE!!

HOPE YOU SORT IT GOOD LUCK!!
