Can anyone tell me if the rear brake disc's/rotors on a 2000 A4 2.5 tdi quattro avant have the abs rings press fitted to the inside of the rear discs like a front wheel drive A4 does?
I need to overhaul the rear brakes but need to know if the abs rings fit in the same way as the older A4 as i could not remove them from the old discs and had to wait to purchase new which held up the job.
I just want to be a bit more prepared.

Thanks

 The rear ABS pick up rings on a A4 Quattro are fitted to the CV joint and come as part of the same, Tip inspect carefully if taking them out of the hub area as the can be split and cause troble with the ABS braking system. Good Luck :gunsmilie:

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
I have an intermittant abs problem insofar as the warning light and chime come on sometimes and in a random pattern.
When the warning is on the abs does not work when its off the abs works ok.
I suspect a sensor fault but how can i pin it down to the faulty item? Is it a trip to a dealer to get them to look at the codes or can i somehow pull these code from the memory?
Help again please!
