Hi. My fuel gauge has stopped working it shows empty and 0 miles , I had it in the garage yesterday and they say it’s the fuel sender . They also said I need a new fuel pump . My question is do they mean the main fuel pump or is it a pump in the tank . Mine is a 2007 c6

Not sure on your model, but my 2004 Audi A4 has the fuel pump and sender in the tank. They are assembled as a unit when in the tank. Either way the pump and sender will come out as an assembly to be repaired/replaced. In my case I’m going to replace both at the same time.
