The warning light on my 03 2.5tdi cab has just come on.

Been quoted £120 by local dealers, anyone done this themselves or should I just pay up.

Thanks

THanks mate, I have a little knowledge but is there a guide or has anyone else done this and do I need any special tools like I did with my last BMW.

I have an 03 1.8T Cab sport with 26000 miles. Brake pad warning light came on so I did a visual check of the pads throught the alloys. They looked fine, less than half worn. When the dealer had the car to fix another problem they said that they had also replaced the fron pads as the inner ones were worn. They changed them for free as I had been messed about by them before with another fault. I questioned the dealer as brake pads should wear evenly but they said it was ok.
My previous BMW 3 series did 46000 miles and still had loads of pad left.
Needless to say, I am a bit concerned about this. I would check the wear on your pads and if you have the same problem I would take it up with the dealer. Like I said, pads should wear evenly
