What year? Does your car have central locking allready?
I recently had a key done for me at main dealer (A3 2004) the big thing is the code, or else the new key does not talk to the imob.
A3 Remote Central Locking Question?
Hi there,
I own a STUNNING black a3, (not an SE or SPORT) but the thing that i would really like it to have remote central locking.
Ive seen on ebay that you can purchase the remote key Fobs fairly cheaply, and instructions once the metal key blade has been changed how to re-programme the key to your car for the remote part of the central locking. Does anyone know if the standard a3 has this capability if i were to purchase such a key?
Please, if anyone can help it really would be much appreicated,

the car is a 1997 P reg, it has central locking from both the drivers and passenger doors. it does not at the moment have REMOTE central locking, but if i were to buy a remote key, would it work I.E. does the car althogh not at the moment have the remote sensors inbuilt already.

as far as i know pal the ir sensors will not be fitted the route i would go is to have a clifford 500 or toad alarm fitted that have remote locking as part of the system
this will wire into your system. with it fitted you are looking at about £300-£400 and a bonus is you will have 2 imoberlisers as they keep the audi one on line and route round it. :thumbsup:
