'97 A6 Door Problem
Hi,
Had the central locking system replaced and everything worked fine for some months. Now the driver side door locks and unlocks but the door handle doesn't operate. The door has to be opened from the inside. All other doors work fine. I know it's not the central locking mechanism. Any ideas?

The locks on early model Audi's were famous for failing. Every six months I used to take my '86 4000 S to have the door handles oiled. The only suggestion is replacing the door handle parts and them properly maintaining them. No WD-40, you need to use a good (better than good) lubricant.
