I have had two incidents in the past week with my B9 2018 A5 w/ a 6-speed manual gearbox. As the A4 & A5 are sister cars, I figured my A4 brothers may have come across this. On both occasions, when shifting from R to 1st, the gearbox will only move me backwards.. Car is clearly in 1st, but only moves backwards. Then alternately, when I put it back in R, it will only move forward. When I am able, after sitting in neutral or a few seconds, I can get it into a gear that moves me in the direction I want to go. Kind of a problem when holding up traffic doing a simple 3-point turn. Has anyone else had this happen? And can anyone point me to a description of how the manual actually works, because I'm thinking there is less linage and more software at work? Been driving with manuals for over 30 years and never had anything like this happen.
