I bought a damaged 2015 A5 1.8 TFSI with the 8 speed auto box. The car had been driven onto a high kerb which smashed the plastic sump, the previous owner then proceeded to drive on until the engine seized, also one of the transmission oil cooling pipes was fractured. I had the crank reground 15 thou under, it's all rebuilt and running great and I have refilled the gearbox, but it will only engage 1st gear and will not change in full auto or semi auto. When it was delivered the driver told me he had released the 'emergency release' to allow the car to be put into neutral (because the battery was flat), does the emergency release have to be reset now that the car is running again?
