Yes, I currently use a Sony Ericcson z600 with a Parrot aftermarket bluetooth kit. It works really well except that it doesn't mute the radio and uses an external speaker. Someone claims to have a diagram that let's you hook it up so that it mute and comes thru your B pillar speakers.

No, I keep it on the ashtray or my armrest. It really does work well. I have also tried the Nokia. That too works well.
