OK, I'm looking at this used car w/ warranty.

Is this a good year? Does a 1.8T perform "well" with the manual tranny?

Please advise what I should look for when I inspect it. Thanks in advance!

The Audi manual gearbox is much better than the auto-tip tronic and will give you better aceleration on the 1.8t.
The 1.8 t as standard is ok but you can get so much more power out of it with a simple ECU remap which would set you back about $600.
In general check the car has been reguarly oil changed as the 1.8t is prone to oil sludge on higher mileage cars and this can cause oil pump failure or blockages in the engine.A full service record will indicate a well looked after car.
