Recently my car started to make a, for lack of a better word, clunking noise when I would turn it. Sometimes it feels like something is slipping. At first we thought it was the air flow sensor, replaced that. Then maybe the sparks plugs as sometimes it feels like it may be missing. Now we are thinking maybe there is something wrong with the transmission. Any ideas anyone?

oh boy. Who and Where did you get your car inspected?
If the MAF & sparks were bad it would not clunk, but lack of power and maybe you couldn't even start it. Clunking while turning is a suspension problem, most likely tension rod bushings, sway bar bushings, etc.. Go to the alignment specialist he'll find what the problem is in less then an hour.

Good luck

Well we took it to a guy that supposedly has 30 years experience and is from Austria. He said he "thinks" it is the transmission. The Dealership that we take it to, VW, said that they couldn't find anything wrong with it, just replaced a couple of vaccuum hoses. We replaced the sparks and MAF because we had a similar problem with our other A6, which was cured by replacing the MAF. I am not sure if I should go for a third opinion, but I told my husband that this all started when I had new tires and alignment done on the car, probably about a week or two later. Thanks for the suggestion.

that would make sense, maybe they screwed something up while doing the tire change. I would recommend going to a good alignment shop and having them look at it.

So Frustrating

I just picked the car up from the guy that told me it was the transmission. He is located about 25 miles from my house. The car ran like a top all the way home. Mind you he did not fix the transmission, doesn't do that kind of work. I am completely stumped on what this could be. I would think that if it were the transmission, it would do it all of the time. I will search for a good alignment shop and have them take a look.
